For Car Hire in Hunstville and the surrounding area, we can help you here at Find Me a Rental Car.

Huntsville is the fourth largest city in Alabama and is located centrally in the northernmost part. Named after Revolutionary War veteran John Hunt, the first settler of the land around the Big Spring, the city boasts a carefully planned layout with streets running from northeast to southwest direction.

Two of the popular attractions here for tourists are The Big Spring International Park and the Marshall Space Flight Centre. The city remains the centre of rocket-propulsion research in the United States and is nicknamed "The Rocket City". Big Spring International Park in downtown Huntsville is a lovely area to walk, picnic and relax in. The Park is centred around a natural water body (Big Spring) which is home to many fish and a waterfall. The park contains the Huntsville Museum of Art and is home to festivals such as the Panoply Arts Festival and the Big Spring Jam.

The Monte Sano Mountain (Italian for "Healthy Mount") is the most notable mountain with over 2,000 acres of beautiful parklands allowing hiking and cycling, holidaying in rustic cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps and offering pectacular scenery.

Huntsville’s land is karst in nature with The Big Spring being a typical karst spring and many caves perforating the limestone bedrock underneath the surface. The headquarters of the National Speleological Society are located here in Huntsville, and caving has become a popular pasttime.
