Pell City is a city in St. Clair County, Alabama. It is situated on Interstate 20 conveniently between Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia. It was named after George H. Pell of the Pell City Iron and Land Company and sits on the shores of Logan Martin Lake. The construction of Logan Martin Dam in 1964 was to provide hydro-electric power to the central region of the state and the Lake that this formed is now one of the major attractions for residents and visitors alike.
