Saraland is a city in Mobile County, Alabama. The first part of the 20th century saw Saraland sparsely populated until a neighbouring town Mobile, experienced an industrial and population boom. With the Northward spread of Mobiles population, Saraland began to expand and incorporation was awarded in 1957.

Saraland is nestled in North Mobile County and is nicknamed the Gateway to Progress. It continuously is growing with the construction of new subdivisions, new commercial and retail development and increasing demands for growth in infrastructure. Beautiful public parks offer a variety of activities for both young and old.

Mobile celebrated the first-known American Mardi Gras in 1703. Now known as home to the "America's Family Mardi Gras”, Mobiles festival delights young and old, local and visiting tourists. For over two and a half weeks the streets of downtown Mobile come alive with brilliant-coloured floats with sequined riders supplying endless crowd-pleasing "throws" such as beads, moon pies, doubloons and candy. Live music and crowds create an atmosphere that has to be experienced to be believed.
