Bullhead City is a city in Mohave County, Arizona. It is situated on the Colorado River a few miles north of Fort Mojave Indian Reservation. A great majority of Bullheads population are employed by the casinos and ancillary services from both Las Vegas, Nevada, 100 miles north, and Laughlin, Nevada, which lies directly across the river.

The town was originally named after William Harrison Hardy and known as Hardyville. Hardy was postmaster, county supervisor and a member of the Territorial Legislature. Hardyville became deserted once the railroad bypassed the town. It wasn’t until the construction of the Davis Dam that the population returned. The constructors of the dam initially named it Bullhead Dam after a rock formation along the Colorado River called "Bull's Head Rock." After the completion of the dam, Bulls Head Rock almost completely disappeared underneath the rising water. The town then took the name Bullhead and began to repopulate. It was finally incorporated on August 28, 1984.

Bullhead today entertains tourists in the summer months on both the Colorado River and the stunning Lake Mohave. The milder winters here also attract travelers to their nine mobile home parks and 21 RV Parks, which are all near capacity from November through May. The Lake Mead National Recreation Area offers miles of natural hiking trails and within Mohave County the outdoor lover can also enjoy the Grand Canyon National Park, Hoover Dam, Davis Dam, the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge and the Virgin River Canyon. Arizona's Veteran Memorial and Colorado River Museum amuse the more subdued tourist.
