Ft. Huachuca is a United States Army installation under the command of the United States Army Installation Management Command. It is located in Cochise County, in southeast Arizona, about 15 miles north of the border with Mexico. Sierra Vista is the closest city and is situated on Fort Huachuca’s east, with Huachuca city being in the North.

The fort was originally was the base for the "Buffalo Soldiers", the 10th Cavalry Regiment, from 1913 through to 1933 and during the buildup of World War II had quarters for more than 25,000 men. Today the fort uses radar-equipped aerostat for the Drug Enforcement Administration. The aerostat, when extended, supports the DEA drug interdiction mission by detecting low-flying aircraft attempting to penetrate the United States.

Fort Huachuca is also home to Libby Army Airfield. Although it shares the runway with Sierra Vista Municipal Airport, it is one of the alternate landing locations for the space shuttle. The Western Division of the Advanced Airlift Tactics Training Center (AATTC) is also based here.

The Fort Huachuca Museum is said to be one of the finest Army Museums in the country. It is located on historic Brown Parade Field and fills two buildings with stunning displays and dioramas depicting the history of the U.S. Army in the southwest of America.
