Glendale is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is located northwest of Phoenix and is considered part of the greater Phoenix area. It is one of the fastest growing cities in America and is the fourth largest city in Arizona. Glendale is affectionately known as “Arizona’s Antique Capital,” and boasts having the longest seated mayor in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Mayor Elaine Scruggs has been the Mayor of Glendale since February 1993. Glendale was founded in 1892 by W.J. Murphy and incorporated in 1910.

The newly and impressively constructed University of Phoenix Stadium resides in Glendale and is home of the NFL's Arizona Cardinals and the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, which opened in August 2006.

The Midwestern University is metro Phoenix's first medical school, as well as a major post-graduate international business school. The Glendale campus is located on a 144-acre and is home to more than 2,079 students and five colleges: the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, the College of Pharmacy-Glendale, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Dental Medicine, and the Arizona College of Optometry.
