Benton is a city in and the county seat of Saline County in Arkansas. It is located halfway between Little Rock and Hot Springs along I-30 in the central part of the state. Benton is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Thomas Hart Benton, a Missouri Senator, first settled Benton in 1833 after the discovery of bauxite ore. Benton was the only place in the United States where it was commercially feasible to mine the aluminium and production took off in 1899 and peaked during World War II.

Indoor activities include live theatrical productions at The Royal Theatre and shopping and dining around the picturesque Benton town square. An impressive collection of Niloak Pottery, made in the region from 1909 to 1946, is held in the Gann Museum of Saline County. This unique pottery with its distinctive "swirling" colors is highly sought after by collectors and housed within the only known structure in the world constructed of bauxite. Antique seekers can find treasures within several antique malls on both sides of the interstate.

Outdoor activities are focused around the Saline River. Excellent fishing, scenery and backcountry floating are accessible in impressive American landscape.
