Cabot is the largest city in Lonoke County in Arkansas. It is located less than 30 miles north east of the state capital, Little Rock. The city is thought to be named after a railroad surveyor that begun a small settlement in 1873 on the Cairo & Fulton Railroad.

Officially incorporated November 9, 1891, Cabot experienced huge growth during the 1950s and 1960s due to the opening of the Little Rock Air Force Base in nearby Jacksonville in 1955. In the March of 1976, a devastating Tornado hit downtown killing five people and destroying multiple buildings. The city underwent a massive rebuild and since that day has endeavoured to create as many of its own recreation facilities, impeding residents desire to travel far into the Little Rock metropolitan area for entertainment. Today a movie theatre, large city library, multiple parks, amateur sporting venues, community organizations and a growing number of restaurants are all within the city limits.

The city’s top draw cards are its two golf courses adjoining Greystone Country Club in the city's north end, and Rolling Hills Country Club in southeast Cabot. These two facilities are the only exceptions to Cabot's legal status as part of a dry county, which prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages.

Each October the city holds Cabotfest. The festival was originally a small community fair but today stands as one of the city's biggest events, staged in the downtown area. The celebrations include 200 exhibitors, free children's activities, live entertainment, rock climbing wall, bull ride, inflatable playground, motorcycle run, car show, NASCAR remote control speedway, carnival and festival food.
