Jacksonville is a city in Pulaski County and a suburb of Little Rock in the state of Arkansas. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. Jacksonville is located just north of Little Rock along the Interstate 67 in the central part of Arizona.

The city has a strong history, beginning when landowner Nicholas Jackson deeded the land for the railroad right-of-way to the Cairo & Fulton Railroad in 1870. Jacksonville community begun around this depot and the town grew dramatically when in 1941 construction began on the Arkansas Ordnance Plant. This factory served as the primary facility for the development of fuses and detonators for World War II. Today tourists can visit the Battle of Reed's Bridge Marker on Highway 161. The marker memorializes Confederate troops who fought to hold off Union troops moving toward Little Rock in August of 1863. Memorabilia, Reeds Bridge Civil War Re-enactments and records can be viewed in Jacksonville’s Museum of Military History.

The parks in Jacksonville are plentiful and cater to a range of ages and desires. These beautifully kept grounds offer walking trails, playgrounds, sports courts and fields, lakes for fishing, picnic areas and plenty of wide open spaces. The City Council provides ongoing funding, keeping parks and facilities expanding and improving each year. These include Pleasure Park, Dupree, Fireman, Excell, Johnson and Paradise Parks. Splash Zone Water Park is located within Pleasure Park and has a three pool layout offering recreation, exercise and fun for all ages. Facilities include a play pool with play structure for small children, a 25 yard pool incorporating a diving board and a massage bench with jacuzzi jets and a plunge pool with two water slides and a water tunnel.

On the first Saturday of October, Dupree Park holds the annual all day Wing Ding Festival. Jacksonville is transformed into a fairyland of fun and food for kids of all ages.
