Boulder is the county seat and most populous city of Boulder County in the state of Colorado. It is located 25 miles northwest of Denver at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 5,430 feet. Just west of the city are imposing slabs of sedimentary stone tilted up on the foothills, known as the Flatirons. The Flatirons are a widely recognized symbol of Boulder.

The IFS has brought world renowned directors and actors to the area and has had both live action and animated shorts nominated for Academy Awards.

Pearl Street Mall is one of Boulders most popular attractions. This famous shopping district is a social hotspot in Boulder, with dozens of restaurants of all kinds and specialty stores. In warmer months and weekends the streets come alive with street shows, sidewalk acts and henna tattoo artists.
