Littleton is a Home Rule Municipality in and the county seat of Arapahoe County in the state of Colorado. It is also a suburb of the Denver-Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. Littleton is located about 11 miles south of the state capital Denver.

The town was incorporated in 1890 and named after Richard Sullivan Little, an irrigation systems engineer who along with many neighbours, built the Rough and Ready Flour Mill in 1867 creating a solid economic base and community. Today the bustling city sits close to Denver and several other thriving cities, allowing residents and visitors access a plethora of modern facilities and recreational activities.

The City of Littleton has over 1,477 acres of parks and open space enhancing the cities outdoor lifestyle and recreational opportunities. The Hudson Gardens are botanical gardens located along the bank of the South Platte River. The Gardens began in 1941 and became public in 1996. These gardens are open to the public 365 days a year with no admission fee. They lay across 30 acres and include beautiful specimens of Conifer Grove, Cottage Garden, Cutting Garden, Deciduous Woodland, Demonstration Garden, Fragrance Garden, Garden Canopy, Herb Garden, Rock Garden Canyon, Rose Garden, Water Garden and much, much more.

The Town Hall Arts Center is located in downtown Littleton and has been a local professional theatre favourite, producing fine comedies, musicals and plays to the Denver Metro area for over 20 years. The theatre was designed by prominent Colorado architect Jacques Benedict and built in 1920. By the late 1970s a new City Hall was built on Berry Street resulting in this timeless structure re- opening as a performing arts center and art gallery.

For more than 30 years, the Littleton Museum has served as the primary repository for the history, art, and culture of Littleton. Located on 39 acres, the museum consists of two living history farms a small lake, a collections center, and a main exhibition and administration building.
