Bristol is a city in Hartford County in the state of Connecticut. It is located 83 miles NE of New York, New York and 20 miles southwest of Hartford.

Bristol has two nicknames, the Bell City, which refers to a history manufacturing innovative spring-driven doorbells, and the Mum City because it was once a leader in chrysanthemum production and still holds an annual "Mum Festival". Bristol also holds an annual street festival with a car show and a family farms weekend at Minors Farm, Shepherd Meadows and Roberts Orchard.

Bristol was known as a clock-making city in the 19th century, and is home to the American Clock and Watch Museum. The largest collection of American Production Clocks in the world resides here in an 1801 mansion. The Museum relays the story of Connecticut clock making and the Industrial Revolution.

Bristol today has easy access to all major highways and benefits greatly from the facilities of nearby cities and towns that are also within the Hartford metropolitan area. The city overflows with exciting and diverse recreational opportunities. Lake Compounce is the oldest continuously operated amusement park in North America and features more than 50 thrilling rides and attractions entertaining families and kids of all ages. North Main Street is a recently refurbished area and one of the busiest sections of downtown. An active arts community, wide range of sporting activities and plentiful dining opportunities make Bristol a popular destination for tourists and residents. City parks include Peck, Page, Rockwell, Bracket, Indian Rock and the Harry Barnes Memorial Nature Center, which covers over 70 acres of forest and fields.

Other attractions in and around Bristol include the New England Carousel Museum, the Imagine Nation Children's Museum, Bristol Military Memorial Museum, Copper Mine Brook, Pequabuck Golf Course, Bristol Historical Society Museum and the Witch's Dungeon Classic Movie Museum. Bristol is also known as the home of ESPN, whose central studios are in the city.
