East Hartford is a town in Hartford County in the state of Connecticut. It is located 4 miles east of Hartford and 89 miles south-west of Boston, Massachusetts. East Hartford is part of the surrounding Hartford metropolitan area.

The Rentschler Field Stadium is home of the UConn Huskies football team and the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League. The Annual Fall Fest features family oriented games, crafters, contests, moon bounce, giant slide, bathtub racers, Big Daddy race cars, music, caricatures, entertainment, pony rides and hay wagon rides. The celebrations have previously included free activities, children’s pumpkin painting and East Hartford’s Best Pizza Taste-Off. ChildPlan hosts a “Create Your Own Scarecrow” competition and gives prizes across several categories.

An annual Halloween Costume Party in held in the Cultural Community Centre for children. Named the Halloween Boo Bash, this event includes games, crafts, a “Scary, Creepy room”, Trick or Treat Alley, a magic show by T-Bone, and a safety presentation by an East Hartford Police Youth Outreach Officer.

The Holiday Fest Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Town Green on Main Street is hosted by the East Hartford Beautification Commission each year. This festive event features Christmas arts and crafts, horse-drawn wagon rides, refreshments, snowman building contests, and a sing-a-long. This free event is visited by Santa and his helpers, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Reindeer and a petting zoo.
