New Milford is a town in Litchfield County in the state of Connecticut. It is located 14 miles north of Danbury on the Housatonic River and 65 miles north-east of New York, New York. New Milford is the largest town in the state in terms of land area at nearly 62 square miles and benefits from easy access to the nearby cities and towns that it shares the Danbury metropolitan area with.

The Town has recently upgraded its recreational facilities adding a skate park and reconstructing the Tennis and Basketball Courts at Young's Field as well as at Williamson Park in Gaylordsville. Several streetscape projects were also completed by the Department of Public Works on Church Street, Whittlesey Avenue and East Street.

Opportunities for recreational activities in Milford are wide and varied. The Bank Street Theatre is a colourful addition to the town and organizes regular quality performances. The Milford Parks and Recreation department maintains the town’s parks and organizes a number of activities and special events throughout the year. Ice skating is popular during the winter months whilst two interesting local celebrations held during the summer are the Paddle Days Festival and Village Fair Days.
