Rocky Hill is a town in Hartford County in the state of Connecticut. It is located just 7 miles south of Hartford and 94 miles south-west of Boston, Massachusetts. It is also part of the surrounding Hartford metro area.

The area of Rocky Hill was originally settled in by Europeans in 1650. In 1722, the area became known as Stepney Parish through until 1849 where it separated from Wethersfield and was independently incorporated. The named comes from a ridge along the Connecticut River in the northeast section that is now Rocky Hill River Park.

Today Rocky Hill exists mainly as a bedroom community. Many residents commute to work in the larger urban centres of Hartford to the north and New Haven to the south. Rocky Hill is proud of its outstanding educational system and having one of the lowest mill rates in the region. In recent years a huge renovation project at Ferry Park has improved boat launch areas and added a handicapped accessible fishing pier.

Rocky Hill is the home of is one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, Dinosaur State Park. The Park officially opened in 1968, two years after 2,000 dinosaur tracts were accidentally uncovered during excavation for a new state building. The Exhibit Center covers more than 55,000 square feet and houses exceptional displays of early Jurassic fossil tracks that were made 200 million years ago. A model of Dilophosaurus, the dinosaur considered to be the likely source of the tracks named Eubrontes, is the highlight of the Jurassic mural and exhibit. More than two miles of nature trails surround the exhibit containing more than 250 species and cultivars of conifers, as well as katsuras, ginkgoes, magnolias and other living representatives of plant families which appeared in the Age of Dinosaurs.

Other Rocky Hill and nearby attractions include Academy Hall Museum, Copernican Observatory & Planetarium, Science Center of Connecticut, Webb – Deane - Stevens Museum and the Kidcity Children's Museum. There are several parks and playgrounds in Rocky Hill. These include Shipyard Park, Center Green, Hoyle Memorial Field, Flanagan Field, Elm Ridge Park and Ferry Park. You can also visit the Liberty Bell Museum, the Rocky Hill Historical Society Museum and the Rocky Hill - Glastonbury Ferry from Rocky Hill.
