Trumbull is a town in Fairfield County in the state of Connecticut. It is located is 5 miles north of Bridgeport and 53 miles north-east of New York, New York. The town is within the Bridgeport metropolitan area.

Residents of the Society of Stratford originally settled the Town of Trumbull in 1639. In 1797 the Town became incorporated and was named for the Revolutionary War Governor Jonathan Trumbull. Trumbull was a valued advisor to George Washington, who respectfully referred to him as Brother Jonathan. The town was largely a rural agricultural community and home to industries such as mining and manufacturing. Significant population growth occurred after World War II when Americans began moving from the country's cities to the suburbs.

Today Trumbull boasts a high quality-of-life for its residents and is known for its extensive parks and recreation areas. Over 1,600 acres of Trumbull land is designated as recreational areas and open space, totalling are over two dozen parks and recreational facilities within the town. The Tashua Recreational Facility covers 268 acres and features swimming pools, picnic areas, multi-purpose fields, a playground, tennis and basketball courts and the Tashua Knolls 18-hole golf course.

The Pequonnock River is the only major waterway in Trumbull and runs from the Monroe border flowing south-easterly through Trumbull Center continuing into Beardsley Park in Bridgeport. Other bodies of water include Canoe Brook Lake, Pinewood Lake, Tashua Hills Golf Club Pond, and the Twin Brooks Park Ponds.

Trumbull and nearby attractions include Beach Memorial Park, Pequonnock River Valley Park, Discovery Museum, Twin Brooks Park, Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course and Pinewood Lake.
