Rehoboth Beach is a city in Sussex County in the state of Delaware. It is located 53 miles south of Vineland, New Jersey and 85 miles south of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rehoboth Beach sits on the south-eastern coast of the state and is part of the Seaford, Delaware Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The Rehoboth Beach Camp Meeting Association was founded in 1873 by the Rev. Robert W. Todd of St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church of Wilmington, Delaware. The Association used this area as a campsite resort for Methodist meetings until 1881. In 1891 the location was incorporated by the Delaware General Assembly as "Henlopen City", then shortly after renamed to Rehoboth Beach. In 1925 a highway that connected Georgetown with Rehoboth Beach was established, allowing tourists from the Washington D.C. area including legislators and diplomats’ access to Rehoboth Beach’s scenery and holiday attractions.

The town gives itself the nick name "The Nation's Summer Capital" due to the fact that it is a frequent summer vacation destination for residents from Maryland, Washington, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Rehoboth Beach is known best for its beautiful beaches, wooden boardwalk, amusements and sporting activities. Surfing is common at the Indian River Inlet area and visitors often enjoy dolphin and whale watching. Fishing opportunities are also plentiful at the inlet as well as along the coast of Delaware Bay and Rehoboth Bay. The boardwalk and scenic beach provide tourists with unique shops and numerous restaurants. Golfing is popular on local courses such as Baywood Greens, Rookery of Milton, Bear Traps Dunes of Ocean View and the Old Landing Golf Course.

Other attractions in Rehoboth Beach include the Rehoboth Summer Children's Theatre, Cannonball House Marine Museum, Rehoboth Beach Theatre of the Arts, Nantucket Indian Museum, Treasures of the Sea Exhibit, Zwaanendael Museum, Discover sea Shipwreck Museum and Lewes Historical Society Complex. Festivals include the Sea Witch Festival, Rehoboth Beach Autumn Jazz Festival, Rehoboth Beach Independent Film Festival and Coastal Concerts.
