Peachtree City is a city in Fayette County in the state of Georgia. It is located about 20 miles south of the state capital Atlanta in the northern part of the state.

Peachtree City was first chartered in 1959 and laid out as a planned community developed into smaller villages. These villages remain today as Aberdeen, Braelinn, Glenloch, Kedron, and Wilksmoor and each retain their own schools, parks, shopping areas, restaurants and basic amenities. One of the most unique features of Peachtree City is the system of golf cart paths that wind through the city streets. Covering more than ninety miles, these golf cart paths provide a secondary means of access to almost any destination within city limits. Many businesses have golf cart parking spaces and more than 9,000 households own a golf cart. The pathways are also used by bikers, joggers, and pedestrians. The Canongate golfing association owns 18 golf courses in Atlanta including Flat Creek, Braelinn and Planterra Golf Corse.

With Peachtree City being located so close to Atlanta, residents and visitors have direct access to a multitude of entertainment and recreational facilities. Attractions in and around the area include Atlanta History Center, Fernbank Science Center, Zoo Atlanta, Lake Kedron, Lake Peachtree, Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia and the Chastain Amphitheatre. Falcon Field is the city’s regional airport which hosts an air show every year.
