Kaanapali is a census-designated place in Maui County on Maui Island in the American state of Hawaii.

Kaanapali was originally developed as a Beach Resort by Amfac Incorporation in the 1960s along mile-long Ka?anapali Beach. The resort was begun on the western shore of Maui close to Lahaina, an old whaling town. In recent years tourist attractions, condos and hotels have built up in the town and for several miles up and down the coastline. Some of these internationally recognised are the Hyatt Regency Maui, Maui Marriott, Westin, Sheraton and the Maui Kaanapali Villas. Today Lahaina is a tourist shopping hub with an area called Whalers Village.
