Kahului is a census-designated place in Maui County, on the island of Maui, in the American state of Hawaii. It is the largest community on the island lying on the north shore and is the location of Kahului Airport, deep-draft harbour and light industrial areas.

The State of Hawaii is made up hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles and is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular tourist's playground that provides everything a visitor could desire from laying in the sun all day to shopping, and from water based sports to exploring the vast array of unique flora and fauna.

Kahului is part of the retail hub for Maui residents and includes several malls and major stores. The Queen Kaahumanu Center is the island’s premiere shopping and entertainment destination. It is home to Maui’s only department stores, Sears and Macy’s and includes more than 100 shops and restaurants. Retail options range from island-style boutiques to brand name chain stores. Dining options are plentiful at the Queen’s Market Food Court or restaurants such as Ruby’s Diner and Koho Grill & Bar. Even more shopping is on offer close by at the Lahaina Cannery Mall, the Happy Valley area of Wailuku, Maui Market Place and Maui Mall and The Shops at Wailea.

The Maui Nui Botanical Gardens are free admission botanical gardens covering 7 acres at Kanaloa Avenue in Kahului. They were originally established within a coastal dune system in 1976 by Rene Sylva. The gardens aim to conserve native Hawaiian plants but also include a large collection of Polynesian-introduced plants including varieties of sugarcane, sweet potato and taro. A greenhouse and shade house is also on site and picnic tables, playground and restrooms are provided for visitors.

Other attractions in and around the area include the Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum, Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary, Kanaha Beach County Park, and the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.
