Kapalua is a census-designated place in Maui County, on the island of Maui, in the American state of Hawaii. It is located on Maui's northwest shore, north of Kaanapali and Lahaina and has a view of the islands of Moloka?i and Lana?i.

Some of the underwater sight include beds of lava rock rich in a variety of corals, manini, aholehole, uhu, octopus, damsel fish, sea urchins and Hawaii' s state fish the humuhumunukunukuapua' a. In an effort to protect the island's unique ocean resources’ fishing is strictly prohibited.
