Kohala Coast is the name of the northwest portion of the Big Island of Hawaii in the Hawaiian Archipelago. It is located in the American state of Hawaii.

Hapuna Beach on the Kohala Coast is one of the largest white sand beaches on Hawaii’s Big Island and offers a variety of water sports. Jet-black and rust-red lava rock fields run through the area reminiscent of the islands origins. Pockets of green oasis nestle world-class accommodations, fine dining and some of Hawaii’s best golf courses.

Attractions in the area include the Anaehoomalu Petroglyphs field in the Waikoloa Resort, the Puako Petroglyph Archaeological Preserve, the bronze statue of King Kamehameha, Lapakahi State Historical Park, keokea Beach County Park, Hawaii Regional Cuisine, Spencer Beach Park and Puukohola Heiau National Historic Site which is home to one of the largest and last heiau temple built in Hawaii.
