Koloa is a census-designated place in Kaua?i County, on the island of Kauai in the American state of Hawaii.

Koloa is one of the communities that make up the south shore of Kauai. According to folklore, Koloa was named for a steep rock called Pali-o-ko-loa which was found in 'Waikomo' stream. This was the site of Old Sugar Mill of Koloa, the first successful sugar plantation which begun in 1835. Today most of the land has been converted to cultivating coffee.

Poipu Bay and Kiahuna golf courses are two of Hawaii's most beautiful golf courses and located just a few minutes’ drive from Koloa. Other recreational activities popular in the area include hiking, fishing, sailing, snorkelling, swimming, surfing, scuba diving and golf.
