Princeville is a census-designated place in Kaua?i County, on the island of Kaua?i, in the American state of Hawaii. It is located on the islands north shore.

The State of Hawaii is made up of hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles and is located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Princeville’s name was given in honour of an 1860 visit by Prince Albert Kamehameha, son of King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma. The land has gone through many phases, beginning as a plantation owned by Robert Crichton Wyllie. The land was planted with Coffee but due to the wet lowlands was unsuccessful. It was replaced by sugarcane and then in 1867 under the ownership of Elisha Hunt Allen became a cattle ranch. In 1968 it was sold for once more and developed into the golf course and resort called Princeville at Hanelei that remains today.

Princeville at Hanalei is a perfect tropical setting, situated among the lush, green Sea Cliffs that tower over Kauai's picturesque Hanalei Bay. Attractions in and around the area include the beautiful and unique Na Pali coast, white sand beaches, dramatic helicopter flights over tropical mountains, Waimea Canyon, eclectic Shopping and two Championship Golf Courses designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr.
