Blackfoot is a city in and the county seat of Bingham County in the state of Idaho. It is located in the eastern part of the state 28 miles south of Idaho Falls. Blackfoot is also the principal city of the Blackfoot, Idaho Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The name Blackfoot refers to several places in the area. A group of trappers and traders from the Hudson's Bay Company travelled through the land in 1818, just 6 years after the land had been scorched by major wildfires, causing the travellers moccasins to become blackened by the burnt earth. The traders then referred to the local Indians as the "Blackfoot Crowd." A mountain range and river also took on the name.

Blackfoot is known as the "Potato Capital of the World" and claims to have the largest potato industry, largest baked potato and largest potato chip in the world. The Idaho Potato Museum displays and explains the history of Idaho's potato industry and celebrates the basic spud and all its varied uses. As well as offering agricultural, historical, social, scientific, educational, artistic and economic aspects of the world-famous Idaho potato the Museum is home to the world's largest Styrofoam potato and offers "Free 'Taters For Out-Of-Staters" after admission.

The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the-art auditorium located on the campus of Blackfoot High School. The centre hosts school and community events throughout the year. It seats 1,223 and boasts a full fly system, fully recessed orchestra pit, professional size stage, hi-tech lighting and sound system with full acoustic sound shell and full theatre lighting.
