Rexburg is a city in and the county seat of Madison County in the state of Idaho. It is located in the south-eastern part of the state 29 miles north of Idaho Falls. Rexburg is the principal city of the Rexburg, ID Micropolitan Statistical Area, which includes Fremont and Madison Counties.

Rexburg drew national attention in 1976 when it was severely damaged by the Teton Dam Flood. The Teton Dam’s rupture left most of the city underwater for several days. A museum located in the basement of the Rexburg Tabernacle has been dedicated to the Teton Dam Flood and the history of Rexburg and the area.

Outdoor recreation is popular in Rexburg and the city hosts several races and competitions each year. Some of these are the Teton Dam Marathon, The Liberty 5K, The Turkey Trot 5K, The Rush Triathlon and The Cube which is a form of bicycle called Cyclo-cross. Rexburg Snow Fest includes sleigh rides, snowball throwing galleries, sledding hill, snow treasure hunt, and a polar bear swim.
