Sandpoint is a city in and the county seat of Bonner County in the state of Idaho. It is located on the shore of Idaho's largest lake, Lake Pend Oreille, and is surrounded by the Selkirk, Cabinet and Bitterroot mountain ranges. Sandpoint sits about 60 miles south of Canadian border.

Idaho's second largest ski resort after Sun Valley is the Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort. It is located in the Selkirk Mountains, just 11 miles northwest of Sandpoint, and over overlooks beautiful Lake Pend Oreille. Lake Pend Oreille was glacially formed during the ice age and has been used since World War II as a naval training station, now called Farragut State Park. Sandpoint is a major service and retail hub for Bonner County and is home to many malls, markets and specialty shops. It is home to the headquarters of Coldwater Creek, Litehouse Foods, and Quest Aircraft. The city’s major economic contributors include forest products and light manufacturing, tourism and recreation and government services.

Silverwood Theme Park sits between Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint on Interstate 90. The park has more than 65 thrilling rides and includes a collection of live shows, life-sized costume characters, and every type of Amusement park food imaginable from ice cream to full service restaurants. The park also includes entry into Boulder Beach Water Park.

Attractions in and around the area include Lake Pend Oreille Cruises, Farmers Market, Cedar Street Bridge Markets, winery tours, Bonner County Historical Museum and the Silverwood Theme Park.
