Fort Wayne is a city in and the county seat of Allen County in the state of Indiana. It is located 18 miles west of the Ohio border and 50 miles south of the Michigan border in the north-eastern part of the state. Fort Wayne is also the principal city of the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Statistical Area, a region that encompasses Allen, Wells, and Whitley counties.

Fort Wayne was the last in a series of forts to be built near the Miami Indian village of Kekionga in 1794. It was named in honour of American Revolutionary War statesman General "Mad" Anthony Wayne. The city sits at the meeting of St. Joseph and St. Marys Rivers and by the 21st century had forged itself a strong economy based on manufacturing, education, insurance, health care, logistics, and defence and security.

The city today offers a vast array of attractive recreational activities, cultural facilities and business opportunities. The Embassy Theatre is a 2500 seat performing arts theatre and home of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra. The Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne campus holds community concerts and university events throughout the year in their 85,000-square-foot auditorium. The Scottish Rite Centre contains a 2,086-seat auditorium and a 15,000-square-foot Valencia Ballroom whilst seasonal acts and movies are held at the Foellinger Outdoor Theatre in Franke Park during warmer months.
